Click a card to see exactly what we do.
Application portfolio assessment
Analysis of current applications, dependencies, costs and risks, and a path for each one.
Modernization plan
Phases, timeline, budget and success metrics (KPIs).
Move to the cloud
Rehost and replatform to Azure or AWS, managed databases and services.
Containerisation
Preparing applications for Docker and Kubernetes environments.
Breaking up the monolith
Moving individual functions into microservices and APIs.
CI/CD and automation
Automated build, test and deployment so changes ship quickly and safely.
Application Modernization
When every change to an old system takes months and it no longer gets security updates, the application starts to hold the business back.
We start with an assessment of your current applications: what works well, what costs too much and what the business wants to achieve. For each application we choose a path – move it as is (rehost), adapt it to a cloud platform (replatform) or rewrite parts of it (refactor).
We modernise in phases with continuous testing, so users experience the change as an improvement rather than a disruption.
Why modernise your applications
Let’s assess which applications to modernise first and which path fits each one.
Faster changes
New features reach users in weeks, not months.
Lower maintenance costs
Less manual work and less outdated infrastructure.
Security
Supported technologies and regular security updates.
How application modernization works
A clear process with no surprises: at every stage you know what is being done, who is responsible and when to expect results.
Assessment
Analysis of applications and infrastructure, business goals
Plan
A path for each application, dependency map, KPIs
Modernise and migrate
Changes and migration in phases with continuous testing
Handover and support
Documentation, team training and ongoing support
Training for your team
Hands-on workshops
Best practices, tools and technologies for your developers.
Tailored training
Courses on the new technologies your team will work with after modernisation.
Skaylink Group experience
The Skaylink Group modernises business applications on Azure and AWS, from consulting and hands-on workshops to migration, refactoring and operations. The Group also has CADD, a Microsoft-certified toolbox that speeds up development on Azure.
In Lithuania we deliver modernisation projects together with the DevOps and Cloud teams.
What to know before you start
Answers to the questions DevOps and development teams ask us most often.
01What is the difference between rehost, replatform and refactor?
Rehost moves an application to the cloud almost unchanged. Replatform makes small changes so it uses cloud services such as managed databases. Refactor rewrites parts so the application takes full advantage of the cloud.
02Do we have to rewrite the whole application?
No. Usually it is enough to move and adapt it, and rewrite only the parts that slow you down most.
03Will the system keep working during modernisation?
Yes. We work in phases and test every step so daily work is not affected.
04How much does modernisation cost?
It depends on the number of applications and the chosen path. After the assessment we provide a plan with a budget for each phase.
05Can you modernise applications built by other vendors?
Yes, if there is access to the code or at least documentation of how it works. We find out what is possible during the assessment.
