Lenovo Partner Summit in Monaco: AI, Servers and Security

The business technology sector has reached a stage where physical server infrastructure, generative artificial intelligence and cybersecurity are merging into a single, indivisible ecosystem.

Last week, technology giant Lenovo brought together a select group of its partners in Monte Carlo, Monaco. The goal: to discuss what will set market standards in the years ahead.

According to Donatas Zaveckas, head of Skaylink LT, who attended the meeting, modern organisations can no longer treat buying servers, deploying AI models and achieving security compliance as separate, isolated IT tasks.

Competitive advantage today depends on the ability to secure access to global supply chains, manage the data-leak risks created by AI and guarantee business continuity in an increasingly strict regulatory environment. As the only Lenovo 360 Platinum partner in the Baltics and part of the international Vodafone Group, Skaylink gives businesses in the region a direct line to top-tier manufacturer resources and the most advanced deployment practices.

The global hardware crisis and Lenovo server logistics

The rapid adoption of generative AI has created an unprecedented shortage of computing resources across all international markets. Semiconductor manufacturing capacity is stretched to the limit, so buying servers has become an unpredictable process for companies: standard delivery times have grown from a few weeks to several months, and prices fluctuate constantly. It is becoming risky for organisations to plan expansion or digitalisation projects without a guaranteed hardware supply channel.

At the meeting in Monaco it was noted that Lenovo currently offers some of the fastest delivery times on the market for standard server configurations. In the Baltics, this advantage is delivered through Skaylink LT, which has for many years maintained unmatched volumes of Lenovo business solutions and holds the highest partnership accreditation.

Platinum status does not mean a formal partnership; it means direct priority manufacturing channels that bypass delays in the distribution chain. Through the specialised TopChoice Express programme, configured server and data storage hardware reaches business customers within 20 business days, providing stability when planning critical infrastructure.

Key infrastructure management advantages offered by Skaylink LT:

  • Shorter delivery time (up to 20 business days): instead of the usual wait of several months or an open-ended one, Skaylink uses the Lenovo TopChoice Express programme to ensure the required hardware reaches business customers within 20 business days (up to 10 business days for priority assembly at the factory in Hungary and up to 10 business days for secure delivery within the EU).
  • An exclusive partnership level in the region: Skaylink LT is the only Lenovo 360 Platinum partner in the entire Baltic region – which means the highest level of manufacturer trust and exclusive terms, not just ordinary reselling.
  • Pricing and budget stability: unpredictable price swings during projects are avoided – Skaylink uses fixed quotas and long-term planning based on the real current value of components.
  • Top-level Premier support: deployment is backed by a certified team of Skaylink engineers and authorised Lenovo Premier Support, guaranteeing Zero Trust security from the factory to the end customer.

This level of supply chain control makes it possible to plan resources with confidence and deliver projects smoothly.

Private AI architecture and Moterra solutions

In Lenovo’s strategy, AI covers not only hardware but also specialised software and managed services. Even so, buying the hardware is only the first phase of deployment.

In reality, mature organisations face the question of how to put AI to work in everyday operations so that the company’s confidential data never leaves a controlled perimeter and security teams can guarantee full compliance with the rules.

Careless use of public language models in organisations creates direct data-leak threats and breaches confidentiality requirements. To solve this problem, Skaylink works with Moterra, which has reached Select partner level in the Services Track of the Claude Partner Network.

Moterra positions itself as a private AI implementer, turning Claude models into a secure, enterprise-managed system in which the infrastructure belongs to the client and Moterra provides a fully managed service.

Instead of risky public AI tools that send data to the provider’s servers, the Claude Desktop on 3P package with Claude Cowork and Claude Code is integrated through Moterra directly into the client’s own Amazon Web Services account (using Amazon Bedrock) or Microsoft Azure account (Azure AI Foundry). This architecture guarantees that the company’s queries, internal documents and operational data never reach public model training datasets. All data is protected with AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit, and control is exercised through the client’s own encryption keys.

Through the Moterra AI Bridge integration layer, the system connects securely to the organisation’s everyday tools, such as SharePoint, Salesforce or databases, strictly applying existing Entra ID access profiles. Moterra AI Bridge is based on the Model Context Protocol (MCP) standard, giving the flexibility to connect not only modern systems that support MCP natively, but also legacy systems not designed for AI, through a classic API layer. The whole deployment takes 1–2 weeks, avoiding months of in-house development costs.

This solution has been proven in practice: Skaylink itself uses this architecture company-wide – from cybersecurity audits to operations and sales management. Preparation time for NIS2 and other regulatory audits has fallen by around 80 per cent, and the same team now handles three times as many audits. 80 per cent of employees started using the system daily in the first week after deployment, without any separate adoption campaign, and today almost the entire organisation uses AI in its daily work. The sales team saves 2–3 hours of preparation before each client meeting, technical account managers complete quarterly client audits in hours instead of days, and a planned business analyst position was replaced with AI support – from analysing client needs to full technical specifications for the DevOps team. The goal was never to shrink the team – the goal was for the same team to achieve twice as much: serve more clients, prepare more proposals and create more premium value. Overall, this has freed up more than EUR 300,000 worth of annual capacity.

Key differences between private and public AI:

  • Data location: instead of external provider servers, all processing takes place in the client’s own AWS or Azure cloud environment.
  • Model training: instead of public platforms using customer data to train models, there is an architectural guarantee that data will never be used for training.
  • Access control: instead of fragmented, isolated account profiles, the system is fully integrated with the organisation’s internal role-based access control (RBAC) structure.
  • Regulatory compliance: instead of hard-to-defend public AI solutions that send data to the provider’s servers, full compliance with GDPR, the DORA regulation and ISO standards is ensured.
  • Integration level: instead of limited standard chat windows, Moterra AI Bridge with Model Context Protocol (MCP) support is provided – allowing integration of both modern MCP systems and legacy systems via a classic API.

This structure allows companies to deploy reasoning models in legal, financial and technical departments while ensuring that no commercial information leaves the boundaries of their internal infrastructure.

Cybersecurity as the foundation of a hybrid IT ecosystem

The broad expansion of technology and AI inevitably increases organisations’ cyber-attack surface. For this reason, cybersecurity can no longer be seen as a separate, isolated line in the annual budget. Over the past three years, Skaylink has consistently built a comprehensive cybersecurity portfolio that naturally complements its IT, cloud and DevOps services.

These capabilities serve two critical goals: practical technological resilience and compliance with increasingly strict regulations. The EU NIS2 Directive (TIS2 in Lithuania) and the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) for financial markets introduce personal liability for managers and require continuous risk management. Organisations must now have functional evidence that their defence mechanisms work under real attack conditions.

This resilience is put into practice through a 24/7 Security Operations Centre (SOC) built on advanced MDR and XDR technologies and a global team of analysts. In parallel, together with Syntricks, controlled penetration testing and Red Team operations are carried out, simulating the actions of real attackers and identifying weak points in the perimeter before criminals can exploit them. The defence chain is completed by Zero-Risk business continuity plans with immutable backups and a long-standing Sophos Platinum partnership, ensuring perimeter and endpoint protection. This comprehensive approach ensures that any newly deployed server or AI system is protected to international standards from day one.
