Skaylink has announced that it will be a launch partner for the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, a new independent cloud for Europe whose infrastructure is being built in the State of Brandenburg, Germany.
What makes the AWS European Sovereign Cloud different
All of its infrastructure is located within the EU and operated separately from existing AWS Regions. Day-to-day operations, including data centre access, technical support and customer service, are controlled only by AWS employees residing in the EU.
What Skaylink offers
Skaylink’s Sovereign Cloud solutions and managed services will be available on the platform: secure Landing Zone blueprints, EU-based 24/7 CloudOps support and compliance expertise. This is relevant for organisations in healthcare, financial services, telecommunications, automotive and critical infrastructure that face strict data residency and operational autonomy requirements. The announcement also notes that Vodafone customers will be able to buy Sovereign Cloud services through Skaylink.
